God (Lord Ram): "It is the nature of law that you can't get everything. If you have wealth, you may not be in a position to enjoy it. If you have love bestowed on you, you may not be able to appreciate it. When you are depressed, take a round of the general ward of your nearest hospital and invariably you will come to saying that you are the luckiest man in the world!
“One sure way to happiness is to understand that you have no command over others.
“Others act as per their own nature and past karmas. Reduce your desires and totally eliminate your expectations from others. Even then if you go through bad times, think that it will also pass.
“Good people can bear bad times more easily because they have the strength and they know help will sure come from some quarters. If they had helped other people in their bad times, they will surely get help from others; not necessarily from the same people they had helped. Finally, I am always there to take care of them.
"If you have great desire to achieve something or become something, you will get it, if you work hard for it, sacrificing all other desires. However, never blame anyone if it does not give you the pleasure you had expected. This is the law. Take my father, for instance. He had a great desire to get a son and he did a lot of sacrifices for the same. He not only got one but four of them. But could he be happy after that?
“To be happy, one must learn to be happy in all circumstances. There are millions of things available to make one happy. One is not generally aware of these things, like the power of hearing and seeing, beauty of nature, rain drops, flowers, cool breeze, love of friends and children, and the best thing that mankind enjoys — intellect.”
