“GIVE ME a cigarette,” asks a local goon and the shopkeeper says, “Pay first.”
Ba-a-ng-ba-ang goes the goon’s gun and the shopkeeper drops on the floor limp, loose and bleeding. He later succumbs to his injuries.
The incident took place on Sunday evening when Shyamlal of Bhagmatkhera village was sitting at his shop. Anil Singh Yadav of neighbouhood Tilasua village arrived there and asked for a cigarette. Yadav took the cigarette and walked away. As Shyamlal asked him for the cost Yadav hurled choicest expletives and went away. While Shyamlal forgot the episode and was busy at the shop, Yadav reached there after 20 minutes. He again asked for a cigarette but the shopkeeper refused for the same without getting the pending dues. Yadav initially forced Shyamlal for the cigarette issuing him life threats but the latter warned the outlaw to leave the place or he would inform the police.
Finding Shyamlal adamant, Yadav whipped out a country-made pistol and shot many times at him. The victim fell in the shop bleeding profusely.
The injured was rushed to the KGMU Trauma centre where he succumbed to the injuries on Monday.
