State Congress party that faced a humiliating defeat in recent Hisar bypoll after its candidate lost its security deposit owing to Anna factor, its seems the ruling party woes are not ending as this time, Gorakhpur farmers made up their mind to take their agitation to electorate of Adampur and Ratia bypolls.

It may be noted that farmers of three villages Gorakhpur, Kajalheri and Badopal villages of this district have been sitting on dharna outside mini-secretariat here for last 447 days against establishment of Nuclear Power plant on their 1500 acres of agriculture land. During this period of more than one year three of the elderly farmers lost their life owing to heart attack.

Hans Raj Siwach, president of Kishan Sangrash Samiti Gorakhpur told Hindustan Times over phone "We have been carrying out our agitation for 447 days outside mini secretariat in a Gandhian way without any kind of assistance from administration side in cold and hot weather".

Siwach said "It seems our efforts and plight are ignored completely by state government, so we have decided to oppose the Congress candidate in upcoming Adampur and Ratia bypolls to bring our cause in government notice". He questioned "If Anna can do it for a cause, we too want to try the same on his lines so that thick skinned politicians can pay any heed on us and we can reclaim our right on our agriculture fields".

He said "On 10 November, we have called upon a meeting in this regard of Gorakhpur farmers and nearby villages and all the farmers would contact their relatives and known ones in both the constituencies to stop them casting their vote in favour of ruling party candidate" he said while adding "If government makes an announcement of withdrawal of section 4 and 6 from our fertile agriculture fields, we can withdraw our new decision".
