GOVERNOR BALRAM Jakhar on Tuesday presented prizes to winners of the painting competition that was held on November 13 at the Ravindra Bhavan by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Bhopal. The theme of the competition was ‘India of my dreams’.
The students who were presented the first five prizes were, Atul Kumar Tiwari of Elite Higher Secondary School, Indira Tiwari of St Thomas Convent School, Arun Tripathi of Model English Primary School, Ashutosh Mishra of Kopal Higher Secondary School and Sandeep, (Sanvedana).
Five consolation prizes were also awarded to Mrigi Agrawal and Kuhu Agrawal of St Joseph’s Convent School, Amir Sayeed of Kopal School, Gautam Kasane of Government Subhash Higher Secondary School and Sonu Saket of Bhopal Public School.
Fakhroonisha Qureshi of Guna and Jaiprakash Suryavanshi of Chhindwara were also honoured with the State-level ‘Yuva Shri’ award on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion of the foundation day celebration of the Nehru Yuva Kendra here, the Governor exhorted children to fulfill the dream of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan vice-chairperson Meenakshi Natrajan in her welcome speech termed Nehru as the architect of modern India and added that the Kendra was endeavoring to realise Nehru’s dream.
Mayor Sunil Sood also paid homage to Pundit Nehru. State AIDS Control Cell Managing Director Salina Singh was also present on the occasion. Over 2,000 participants from across the State took part in the programme.
