Buzz is that Jagmohan Mundhra’s Naughty at Forty, to be produced by Anuj Sharma, has been stalled.
Apparently, Sharma was unable to organise the finance due to the market slowdown and a lack of interest in the investors to pump in money for a solo Govinda project.
Film trade also believes that Govinda wasn’t willing to allot dates for the film.. which has now lead to the film being shelved. A 10-day schedule of the film had been shot in London a few months ago.
Mundhra confirmed the news that the shooting for Naughty at Forty has been stalled for a while and the project has been put on the backburner.
Contrary to trade beliefs, the director insists that Govinda has been a thorough professional and never troubled the unit whatsoever.
“The producer has problems managing the finance right now. But I’m sure he’ll do the best he can. Once he sorts out his
problems, we will think over how to proceed with this project,” says Mundhra.
Govinda, who was to play the lead, had accepted the project since he was adamant about changing his image back then.
The project was rumoured to be ‘inspired’ by the Hollywood hit, The 40 Year Old Virgin.
