GovindaGovinda saw Raavan at a special trial show last Monday at Film City Adlabs with the cast and crew of the film and was surprised his role had come out so well in the final cut.

“He was so thrilled that he couldn’t stop grinning,” says a source. “He joined the team for a party at Shaad Ali’s Juhu residence and left only at about 3 am saying he had to wake up early as it was his wife Sunita’s birthday the following day.”

The film’s director, Mani Ratnam, along with his stars, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan and Vikram partied till dawn. Ratnam and Vikram had flown down from Chennai earlier in the evening for the screening. The Bachchans were busy with pre-release interviews and came in only towards the end.

Happy memories were exchanged during the interval. Some crew members admitted to Govinda they had a bet on his reporting time. He reached the sets by 6 am on the first two days. Unimpressed, they predicted he wouldn’t be in before 9 am on the third day. He was at the hotel’s reception at 4:30 am the following morning. The revelation had Govinda in splits.

Nikhil Dwivedi’s tonsure was another topic of discussion. The actor had flown down his stylist, Dilshad, to crop his hair really short for the role of a cop. “But Mani sir didn’t want a styled cut, so Nikhil sent Dilshad back and called for a local barber,” informs our source.
