THE ANUSUCHIT Jati Janjati Adhikari evam Karmachari Sangh (AJJAKS) State spokesperson Suresh Jadhav has alleged that maintenance and repair works of the government quarters is undertaken selectively and mostly it is the post and clout of an official, which determines the promptness of PWD in conducting the work.

Jadhav has alleged that when employees living in H, T or I type quarters make complaint with the PWD, they are asked to bring building material for repair while officials living in government houses of higher category don’t need any push at all to get their works done.

He alleged that there is large-scale corruption in PWD and cited the example of an application under Right to Information Act (RTI) filed by him regarding waterproofing work which was not done even after six months of application. Jadhav claimed that he got a vague reply in the appeal that said that owing to lack of manpower and less allocation of labourers with the contractor the work could not be done. Now he has written to the Principal Secretary (PWD) regarding the alleged discrepancies, according to a press release issued on Friday.
