The second autopsy report of her 14-year-old daughter on Monday confirmed what she had been alleging for three days - that her daughter had not committed suicide. It was indeed a murder and that too on the premises of a police station.

"The policemen who killed my daughter should be sentenced to death," said the grieving mother of Razia (name changed).

The parents have alleged that cops in Nighasan police station in Lakhimpur-Khiri district on Friday had also raped Razia before murdering and hanging her on a tree to make it appear like a suicide. The autopsy reports did not confirm rape. However, the parents said they have no faith in the government doctors.

"My five-year-old son is an eyewitness to the gory incident," said the mother, who did not want to be named.

"My son told us as well as the administrative officers that Razia was pulled inside the room. The cops stuffed her mouth with a cloth and raped her," she said.

She alleged the policemen held her son at gunpoint to ensure he did not raise an alarm.

"Fearing for his life, he remained silent while her sister was raped in the adjacent room," the mother said.

"After hanging her body on a tree, the cops washed the bloodstains and changed Razia's garments," she said.

Razia's father said their hutment was located barely 50 yards from the police station.

"We considered the policemen as our protectors. But they turned out to be shaitans (devils)," he said.

Razia, who had taken her buffaloes for grazing on Friday morning, entered the police station premises after some buffaloes strayed inside.
