As people get more and more agitated with the condition of the city's roads, the state government has decided to step in.
Mumbai's guardian ministers - Jayant Patil (island city) and Naseem Khan (suburbs) - on Tuesday said they would tour the city and get answers as to why the roads have not been repaired.
Reacting to HT's campaign on bad roads, Patil said he would summon officials from the BMC and MMRDA on Thursday or Friday and survey roads along with them. Last year, Patil had taken officials on a bumpy ride with him behind the wheel to prove the point.
Khan said he has called a meeting of BMC officials and other agencies on Thursday. "I want to know why the roads are not being repaired despite financial provisions being made," he said.
