“Prime Minister describes himself a Pradhan Sevak but improper expenses have been made to build a tent for him. The money spent is huge,” state Congress chief Bharatsinh Solanki alleged here on Friday.

“We are not against the conference as such, they should meet and discuss national security but our problem is the expense done behind it,” Solanki added.

In a statement earlier on Friday, Congress leader Jayrajsinh Parmar claimed that Rs 31 lakh have been spent to build the tent for Modi.

“The Prime Minister himself has appealed to countrymen to forsake the LPG subsidy but is now living in a tent worth Rs 31 lakh,” Parmar said.

He also criticised the state government for providing “royal treatment” to the Prime Minister.

“Gujarat government is spending huge money on the PM but not giving good price to farmers for cotton,” he said.
