SharedReach, an IT firm, is helping the MCG with its team of experts in launching the portal (link of www.mcg.gov.in).
“This step is being taken to bring transparency in the system and also this would help in monitoring the progress of work,” said Sudhir Rajpal, MCG commissioner.
He added the portal was a top priority of the civic agency.
Nearly 200 projects are underway. It is not possible for the MCG Commissioner to physically monitor all these projects, he said.
“We hope this portal will be launched next week. This would bring down disputes between contractors and officials,” said the commissioner.
The commissioner has also sought the help of the public. “Visual progress information would be updated on a regular basis by auditors visiting all project sites on a regular basis,” said Vivek Agrawal of SharedReach.
