On Monday, nervous students and school authorities could be seen calculating and compiling their results after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the class XII result.

And the students did not disappoint the city. A number of them are among the country’s top-scorers.

In DAV Public School, 306 students appeared for the exam, of which 83 scored above 90%. The pass percentage of the school is 100.

Blue Bells Model School, sector 4, Gurgaon also proved it’s merit in academics with a 100% result. Suman Gulati, its principal, congratulated her students for their splendid performance.

At Amity International School Sector 43, 35 students appeared for class 12 board examinations from science stream. Of these, three students scored above 95%. In commerce, 23 students appeared in the exam and all of them have come out with flying colours.

Students of Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, too scored well. Like DPS in Sushant Lok, CCA School too had a 100% result. All its 145 students, who appeared in the exam, have done exceptionally well with seven students scoring above 90% marks.

No tuition campaign

Several of students of the city have managed to score well and make their parents and teachers proud.

But many of them were on a ‘No tuition’ campaign as they all believed in self-study and say that tuitions are a waste of time and money.

Surabhi Sharma, one of Gurgaon’s top-scorers with 97.4% marks, said, “I have never taken any tuition. It is a sheer waste of time. I have often told my friends that.”

Sonal Batra, who has scored 97% marks says, “What can a tutor teach you if you can’t

listen to your school teacher? Tutors do not have magic sticks that can help you in scoring well. “It is a student’s hard work that pays, not a tutor’s,” she added wisely.
