Gurgaon: Strict action against faulty builders
The Haryana Urban Development Authority has assured the Gurgaon Citizens Council of strict action against builders, flouting civic norms in their respective areas. HT reports.
The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has assured the Gurgaon Citizens Council (GCC) of strict action against builders, flouting civic norms in their respective areas.
Yusuf Mohammed Mansuri, senior town planner of Huda, met GCC members and assured them of taking strict action against builders, if they do not fulfill what they had committed in the layout of their respective colonies.
"If builders do not follow the directions with regards to providing basic infrastructure in their colonies, action will be taken against them," he said.
Besides the installation of sub-stations, water and sewer connections, building community centres and roads, there are many other issues that have not been met by the builders, even after years of rehabilitation of the colonies.
"The town planning department has never taken action against builders," said TN Kaul, a member of GCC.
The members have expressed concern that the builders are not following even the Supreme Court's directives. "The apex court has laid a guideline for builders, according to which they have to hand over their colonies to the civic body within six months," said SS Rai, another member.
