THE GWALIOR team dominated the table tennis events being organised in the State-level women’s sports meet that began at Tatya Tope Stadium on Friday. In the final of the singles category, Reshu Sharma of Gwalior will take on Swati Jain of the same team. Bhopal is to play against Gwalior to claim the team championship title.
Apart from table tennis, the other games that began at the stadium included track and field events and badminton. In the first semifinal of the table tennis event, Reshu Sharma defeated Jyoti Ahirwar, also of Gwalior, 11-04, 11-07, 09-11, 10-12 and 11-03. Swati Jain of Gwalior registered 11-06, 11-09 and 11-08 win against Supriya Chaturvedi of the same team in the second semifinal.
Bhopal and Ujjain dominated the athletics category. Bhopal athletes grabbed first position in 400m, 800m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, long jump and high jump. Ujjain stood first in the 100m, 200m, 1500m, 3000m, and javelin throw.
In the final of the badminton category, Sagar will take on Indore.
The selected players of the meet will participate in the national-level meet to be organised in Raipur from November 14.
