Tennis sensation Sania Mirza might provide the glamour quotient at the swearing-in of West Bengal's seventh Left Front government that will also be attended by a host of corporate and academic celebrities.

"Sania has told me that she wants to participate in the historic occasion. We will have her flown from Hyderabad," Ashok Bhattacharya, the urban development minister, told a city daily.

"We shall be very happy to have her," said the minister, known for his love for sporting activities and sports personalities.

Sourav Ganguly, who even showed up for Ashok Bhattacharya's campaign in Siliguri, would be another attraction at the swearing-in ceremony on Friday where top industrialists and academicians would be present.

From social activist Teesta Setalvad to agriculture scientist MS Swaminathan and historians Irfan Habib and Romila Thapar, the list of invitees to the function is long and illustrious.

Scriptwriter-lyricist Javed Akhtar and filmmaker MS Sathyu are some of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya's favourite film personalities who are also invited.

With Buddhadeb Bhattacharya returning the Left Front to power on his pro-industrialisation posturing, the who's who of the business world will be at hand.

Invited industrialists included Ratan Tata, whose Tata Motors is likely to set up a small car manufacturing unit in the state, and IT giants like Narayana Murthy of Infosys and Azim Premji of Wipro.

Riding on the crest of industrialisation chants by a reformist Buddhadeb, West Bengal's Left Front recaptured power for a historic seventh consecutive term with an emphatic three-fourths majority (235 seats) in the 294-member assembly.
