The shooting of Shahid Kapoor-starrer 'Haider' had to be stopped temporarily for some time following protests by local residents in Anantnag district of Kashmir on Thursday.

Local residents started hurling snowballs at the crew of 'Haider', the Bollywood adaption of Shakespearean play 'Hamlet', when they were shooting some sequences in Keribal area, 55 km from here, police sources said.

They said police personnel posted on security duty chased away the protesters, but the crew decided not to shoot at that location. They later went to the temple town of Mattan nearby and resumed shooting there, the sources said.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The movie, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, also features Irrfan Khan and Tabu.
