TWO PERSONS from the City got hair transplanted on baldpate and another two had their fat reduced through liposuction method at a special continued medical education programme and workshop on ‘liposuction and micro hair transplant’ held at the Hamidia Hospital on Saturday.
The workshop titled ‘Aesthetica-2006’ was held under the aegis of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Department of the Gandhi Medical College with the support of different organisations of surgeons. In-charge dean of the Gandhi Medical College Dr Nirbhay Shrivastava inaugurated the workshop.
Former dean of the People’s Medical College Dr P K Gupta was special guest while chairman of the organising committee Dr P K Sharma presided over the session.
Prominent surgeon from Mumbai Dr Ashok Gupta and Dr Manoj Khanna from Kolkata performed the liposuction and micro hair transplant techniques successfully. The surgeries conducted at the operation theatre of were relayed on a big screen for over 100 participating doctors. Both the methods are totally painless and the patients are discharged from hospital within a day.
Organising secretary Dr Arun Bhatnagar proposed the vote of thanks. Head of the surgery department of the GMC Dr M C Songara, Dr M P Chincholkar, Dr K S Budhwani, Dr G S Agnihotri, Dr Sanjay and others were prominently present.
