With the BJP and Congress engaged in a war of words on the registration of a criminal case against the HP Cricket Association, the Hamirpur district BJP on Sunday dubbed the Congress demand of resignation of Anurag Thakur from the post of HPCA chief as undemocratic and irrational.

Ajay Sharma, the party's media in-charge, said there was no justification in the demand of Congress spokesman Deepak Sharma for the resignation of Anurag Thakur from the HPCA post.

He asked Sharma to clarify what he knew about cricket and HPCA. The BJP media in-charge alleged that Sharma should himself clarify his position as he was a turncoat and had changed parties only to remain in power.

Ajay Sharma claimed that cricket has prospered under Anurag Thakur in the state and cricket stadium of Dharamshala had gone name and fame at the world level. It was all due to the farsighted policies of the BJP and Anuarg Thakur.

He asked the Congress leaders not to criticise the HPCA chief for the sake of criticism and look within his own party, which was sharply divided into various groups in the state despite being in power.
