The Himachal Pradesh government has sanctioned four watershed development projects worth Rs 26 crore for the district.
Deputy commissioner Ashish Singhmar said this at a meeting here on Saturday. DRDA project officer Rakesh Sharma was also present at the meeting.
Singhmar said two projects would be started in Bijheri block and one each in the blocks of Nadaun and Bamsan.
He said the tenure of the projects would be five years and during this period an area of 18,000 hectares would be treated through soil conservation, afforestation and providing water conservation schemes in the areas to be covered.
The deputy commissioner claimed that the water table of the district had increased due to the earlier projects that had been completed in time. He asked the officers concerned to ensure all projects were completed in time and their benefits were given to people.
