IMC EMPLOYEES who were cleaning the nullah near Bhandari Mill this morning found two hand grenades momentarily sending senior officers into a tizzy since it was a stone’s throw away from L K Advani‘s public meeting venue.

However, the tension dissipated with it was found that the hand grenades were rusted, and while one did not even have a pin, the other had a rusted pin on it. SP Adarsh Katiyar said that the two grenades might be dummies, but to be sure, they would have to be opened.

“That is a very tricky job and experts from the Bomb Disposal Squad are going to do it.” Katiyar said it would be difficult to say from where the grenades came, but they appeared to be very old.

The two hand grenades were found when IMC employees were digging the drain with their shovels, and unearthed the grenades caked in mud. Soon after the grenades were found, the IMC employees rang up IMC health committee in-charge Rajendra Rathore who immediately rang up SP Adarsh Katiyar.
