The residents of Hansi city of the town on Thursday formed Sangrash Manch to fight against increasing lawlessness and goondaism in the town.
The members of Sanghrash Manch led by Praveen Tayal staged a dharna to express anger against the incidents of robbery, ransom and murders in the town. The workers of the opposition parties also supported the manch and participated in the protest.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Satheesh B Balan visited the protesters and assured them of arresting the seven robbers, who had allegedly robbed a transporter of jewellery and cash last week, within three weeks. On his assurance of strictest action against the accused, the residents ended the dharna.
