A prominent engineer, SK Mittal, is the new director general of Central Public Works Department. He took charge on May 1 and had been associated with CPWD in different positions. Mittal is also a life member of several prestigious organisations such as the Institutions of Engineers (India), Indian Road Congress and Indian Buildings Congress.

PM secy sets out to prepare ‘Report to the People’
Amidst his busy schedule, Prime Minister’s principal secretary Pulok Chatterjee has embarked upon another major assignment: preparing the Report to the People for the third anniversary of the second UPA government. According to top PMO sources, last year’s report was almost single-handedly prepared by Prime Minister’s secretary Mukesh Nandan Prasad. This time, Chatterjee is also keen to bring some changes to highlight the UPA’s achievements.

Air India CMD asked to surrender Delhi bunglow
A recent communication from the urban development ministry has left Air India CMD Rohit Nandan flummoxed. The ministry is believed to have asked Nandan to surrender his official bungalow in New Delhi as he has shifted base to Mumbai to handle AI. When Nandan was offered the AI position he had also been given an assurance from the then civil aviation minister Vayalar Ravi that his Delhi residence would remain under him, as his 91-year old mother would not be able to shift. But now, things have changed.

1984 batch IPS officer of AGMU cadre Karnal Singh will soon join the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as special director in Chandigarh. He is serving as additional director general in Mizoram police at the moment.
