Three persons from Haridwar district were reportedly killed in the Wisconsin gurdwara shooting in the US. While two of them — Raja Singh and Jorawar Singh – were brothers hailing from Daluwala Majbata, the third — Prakash Singh — was a resident of Tikkampur.

All the three had been working as granthis (priests) at the gurdwara.

Just two months ago, Prakash had taken his family to the US. Fate, however, had harsher plans in store for them. Tears streamed down the face of Prakash's sister, Pushpa, as his family mourned in Tikkampur on Monday.

In Daluwala, every youth dreams of going abroad after finishing his education. The incident, however, seems to have changed that. Arjun Singh, a resident, said, "Now, everybody will think twice before planning to settle abroad."
