The father of the 12-year-old rape victim of a government school in Fatehabad alleged that not only his victimised daughter has been shown the door by school authorities, even her sisters studying in the same school have been expelled.

He said, "My three daughters are sitting at home after the school has shut the door on their face".

However, district education department denied the allegation.

Defending the government school on this issue, district education officer, Manju Gupta, has a different story to explain the events related to case. She said the "victim's father insisted on changing his daughters' school. He moved a application last month and the matter was discussed by the School Management Committee and the three girls were given School Leaving Certificate(SLC) on October 3."

The victim's father, a resident of Nangal Dhani under Ratia town, registered a case against a fruit vendor identified as Sohan Lal for raping his daughter. He stated in his complaint that the accused who used to sell fruit near the victim's school had lured his minor daughter by offering fruit and committed the crime.

Following the complaints, the police arrested Sohan Lal Odh, a resident of Khai village. On Sunday, the victim's father told media that the "matter was discussed at panchayat level headed by sarpanch Jai Singh on October 7 but when the panchayat couldn't take a satisfactory action against the perpetrator, "I approached police on October 13."

Sources said, "Village sarpach Jai Singh tried to settle the issue for few thousands rupees. But, victim's father felt offended and approached police after the panchayat members attempted to hush up the matter."

Sarpanch Jai Singh refused to comment on this issue.

After the victim's father alleged that the victim is pregnant, police took the victim for medical examination at Fatehabad civil hospital.

Fatehabad chief medical Officer, Dr Suraj Bhan Kambo told the Hindustan Times that he could not reveal the details of medical examination performed on victim as matter was under police investigation.
