Haryana, Rohtak set up title clash

BLOOMING DALES Haryana will take on DPS Rohtak in the final of the under-19 girls’ category of the CBSE National Hockey Tournament being organised by Maharishi Vidya Mandir (MVM) Ratanpur at Maj Dhyanchand Ground, Barkatullah University. The final will be played on Saturday.

In the first semifinal on Friday between Blooming Dales and Anthony School, Blooming Dales dominated the game. Such was the aggressive game by the Haryana boys that the team never allowed the adversaries to even possess the ball for long time. With the help of good defense and attacking forward line, Haryana team won the match by 5-0.

Except the result, the story was almost same in the second semifinal match played between the strong DPS Rohtak and Rampur. Rohtak team studded with brilliant players made problems to the Rampur team. Team scored three goals in the match and conceded single goal.

In the other matches of the under 19 boys’ category, Jawahar Lal Nehru School, Bhopal, were ruthless against Chinmay School, Coimbatore. Registering their biggest win of the tournament, Bhopal team was outstanding in the match. Affan of JLN scripted win as he scored two hat-tricks. He scored nine goals. JLN won the match by 16-01.

Amity School defeated Sir Chhotu Ram in the second match of the same category by 8-0. However, Sir Chhotu Ram School appeared in their second match against Chinmay School with a different strategy.

The team registered the biggest win of the tournament. Sir Chhotu Ram won the match by 17-00. Mohd Nasim and Vinod scored three goals each. Ivy League played 1-1 draw with Ghaziabad team in the third match.
