With the Fashion Week now over, here’s reflecting on the major trends set by the designers for Spring-Summer 2007.
If you have not picked up a piece already, don’t give it a miss for skirts remain the top priority for all designers. And for those, who are already sashaying around, here’s an update. The icons suggest that hemlines go high. Your best bet would be trendy floral printed skirts that flow down till the middle of your calf. Also a hot item to bag would be pleated skirts till the knees.
Yet another addition to the fashion statement for the coming summer are leggings. If you are among those not comfortable with teaming them with Tees, go in for tight-fitting churidars in any stretch material under short kurtas for the same effect.
While white, black and biege are definitely the colours of the season, you could follow the trends of Ranna Gill, Malini Ramani or Swapan and Seema and paint the town in pastel hues of pink, green and blue.
Needless to say, the sultry hot Indian summer calls for fabrics with the most breathing space: linen. Also in the spotlight are georgettes, chiffons, organza, silk blended cottons and loads of lycra.
Go slow on the bling. Replace it with one or two large bangles or precious stones. But pearl were definitely the new rage on the ramp, ranging from embellishments to necklaces, pearls stood out in most creations.
Use large handbags that match your clothes to complete your look for the day while a metallic clutch can add a zing to your summer night-outs.
