THE ALUMNI Association of HBTI is organising its two-day ‘2nd International Harcourtians Meet-2006’ on the foundation day of the Institute on November 25 and 26.
The meet is going to be organised with a view to share and use the experience of the esteemed alumni for the enhancement of quality of technical education, industry-institute interaction, training and placement opportunities and infrastructure facilities of the institute.
Addressing a press conference here today, HBTI director, Dr RP Singh said that institute had a huge network of a large number of alumni workers throughout the world. In order to maintain a strong bond and relationship in the alumni family, an organisation named ‘Harcoutians’ Alumni Association’ was committed to hold meetings and gatherings in the form of seminar and conferences, he added.
He further appealed that more and more alumni should attend the meet in order to strengthen the Alumni Association and the institute as well. So that ambitions and dreams of making and converting the institute globally compatible could be achieved, he said.
Dr Singh further claimed that around 500-600 delegates were expected to participate in this meet in an excellent and most congenial environment for sharing their feelings and experience. Along with that the alumni of HBTI has been invited to attend the function with their spouse and children to make it a family get together in a real terms, he added.
Giving more information about upcoming alumni meet, Singh said that two-day programme has been divided in seven sessions out of which four sessions have been scheduled for the first day and three for the second day. A few of the important activities to be taken up includes ‘experience sharing’, ‘open house discussion’ and a visit of the alumni to their respective department where they had studied during their stay at HBTI.
Prominent dignitaries and alumni who would address the gathering include YK Goel convener (overseas) for the meet, Harendra Agarwal, KM Agarwal convener of the meet, VK Grover, AK Mehta and Dr Raghuraj Singh local convener of the meet.
The function would be presided over by Rajeev Kumar. Agriculture and technology minister Yogesh Pratap Singh and special secretary (technology) RK Singh would also grace the occasion as the chief guest and the guest of honor of the programme respectively.
It is important to mention that Alumni Association of HBTI had organised its first international meet in November last year.
