The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday gave the Uttar Pradesh government and farmers time till August 12 to negotiate and resolve their dispute over compensation for land acquired in Noida Extension villages.
A larger bench of the court will hear the matter on August 17. The present case refers to land which were not part of Shahberi and Patwari villages.
All land in Greater Noida has been acquired using the urgency clause of Land Acquisition Act. Both Allahabad High Court and the Supreme Court have held this illegal and used as a ground to quash the land acquisition in Shahberi and Patwari.
