MP HIGH Court has ordered to issue notices to the State through Secretary, Medical Education, Medical Education Director, Professional Examinations Board, Bhopal, Medical Council India, New Delhi and Association of Private Dental and Medical Colleges of MP in response to a writ petition, which has insisted that the State Government should come out with options and fix the base for granting admission to medical students by September 1.

The division bench comprising Chief Justice A K Patnaik and Justice S C Sinho has asked the respondents to file reply by August 28, a day before the case has been listed for hearing.

Petitioner Pawan Rao Yalamanchali passed class XII examination with 92.04 percentile and scored 145.04 marks out of 200 in Pre Medical Test 2006.

He then appeared for D MAT on August 13 and was to clear it with good percentile but this examination was cancelled. The petitioner through his counsel Aditya Sanghi prayed before HC that it was imperative that government evolve some alternative mechanism through which he could be given admission in the State’s private medical colleges.

The admission could either be granted on class XII marks, the marks scored in PMT or through D MAT so that his current academic year is not wasted, the writ said.

As per the Supreme Court guidelines, the last date for getting admission in MBBS / BDS is September 30.
