Orissa High Court has stayed the collection of enhanced tuition fees by the Kendriya Vidyalaya in the state.
Notices have been issued to the union HRD ministry and commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathanto place their views on the matter.
Justice M M Das, on Thursday, ordered the stay and issued the notices returnable in four weeks. The judge, however, allowed the vidyalaya to collect fees at old rates until further order.
The city based vidyalaya has in a September circular enhanced tuition, computer and development fees of Classes IX, X, XI and XII by over 150 to 500 per cent.

Similarly, monthly computer fee has been hiked by 150 per cent from Rs 20 to Rs 50 and development fee from Rs 160 to Rs 240, he said.
