HDFC Bank Q1 net up 30.38%

HDFC Bank Ltd on Friday posted a 30.38 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 239.30 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 183.53 crore for the corresponding quarter in the year 2005-06.
Total income rose to Rs 1855.08 crore for the first quarter in 2006-07 from Rs 1157.68 crore in the year-ago period, up 60.24 per cent, the bank said in a release.
Net revenues, consisting of net interest income and other income, were up by 48.4 per cent at Rs 1168.4 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as against Rs 787.2 crore for the corresponding period of the previous year.
Recording an increase of 47.6 per cent, total balance sheet size of the bank as on June 30, grew up to Rs 79,697 crore.
The bank's capital adequacy ratio (CAR) was at 11.7 per cent as of June 30.
