Enough is enough, Santhi Soundarajan has decided. Publicity is all very well, but a loss of Rs. 400 — two days' wages — is more than she can afford.

Enough is enough, Santhi Soundarajan has decided. Publicity is all very well, but a loss of Rs. 400 — two days' wages — is more than she can afford.

The former Asiad silver medalist has decided to head back to the brick kiln on Thursday.

After the media highlighted her plight on Wednesday, many organisations had come forward to help.

"But all I have got so far are promises," Soundarajan said.

Failing a gender test, athlete Soundarajan, 31, was stripped of her medals in 2006 and her name was struck off records. Now she works as a labourer at a brick kiln in Tamil Nadu's Kathakuruchi village.

Over the last two days, the Sports Authority of India asked her to send her resume and other documents. "I sent them everything," she said.
