THE MP High Court today adjourned the hearing of three separate criminal revisions filed by the State Government, MP Housing Board former Commissioner Raghav Chandra and the then Collector of Katni district Shahzad Khan challenging the April 2005 order passed by the Katni Special Court in a multi-crore land scam.
Justice Rakesh Saksena allowed prayer of the counsel appearing for the State Government and Raghav Chandra requested for some time to study certain documents to be referred in this case.
The Special Court in Katni cleared the way for prosecution of three IAS officers in the land scam with observation that prima facie enough evidence existed against them. But the Special Court asked the Lokayukta to seek permission from the Central Government to try these officials.
The State Government in the HC has challenged the Katni Special Court directive to the Lokayukta to seek permission from the Centre, instead of the State.
On the other hand, Raghav Chandra and Shahzad Khan have challenged Special Court order against them.
