The "perceivable" improvement in J&K's security scenario beckons the Non Resident Indians and Indian Inc to come forward and invest for peace in the state.
The state's Finance Minister Tariq Hamid Karra extended this invitation at a conference on Global Participation in India's Economy held in New Delhi on Monday evening. Come forward and help in rebuilding the state's economy, he said after being conferred Bharat Gaurav award by the Union Minister of State for Planning MV Raj Sekhran.
Karra said that everyone, particularly the trade and industry, should contribute to the ongoing peace process in Kashmir. The stage is set and the atmosphere is most congenial for private investment in J&K, which has been achieved through Prime Minister's Reconstruction Plan. It envisages five to seven year transformation plan which includes providing road connectivity, communication and energy.
He felt there was strong need for interaction between the state government, policy makers and people in other parts of the country to meet knowledge deficit.
