Heroin valued at nearly Rs 1.5 crore in the international market was recovered from two hotels in the city and Biharsharif district and seven person arrested in this connection, police said on Monday.
On a tip off, a police team raided two hotels under Gandhi Maidan police station on Sunday night and recovered two packets of heroin, each weighing about one pound (.453 kilogrammes), Senior Superintendent of Police Kundan Krishnan said.
On the basis of information provided by those arrested another packet of the same weight was recovered from Biharsharif, the district headquarters of Nalanda district, the SSP said.
Those arrested hailed from different districts of Bihar, Krishnan said.
Officer in-charge of the Gandhi Maidan police station Mundrika Prasad said the three packets bore markings of Afghanistan, China and Thailand.
It is suspected that the contraband landed from Nepal.
