Technology solution provider Hewlett Packard India Pvt Ltd has emerged as the overall leader in the personal computer (PC) market in India with a total market share of 20.3 per cent.
It continues to lead the notebook and desktop markets in Q2 2006, the company said on Thursday.
"Close on the heels of becoming the world's largest technology company, Hewlett Packard (HP) India replicated HP's worldwide feat by emerging as the overall leader in the total PC market with a market share of 20.3 per cent," a company statement read.
"HP India achieved a massive market share of 37.1 per cent in the notebook segment, which was more than double the share of its closest competitor, according to IDC's Asia/Pacific Quarterly PC Tracker, 2Q06," the company said.
The company also emerged winner in the total desktop segment with a market share of 16.6 per cent (by volume). HP was number one in consumer desktop shipments, with a 15.7 per cent market share. In the commercial desktop market, HP captured 17.1 per cent market share (by volume).
