US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday.
The call was originally scheduled for Thursday but couldn’t materialise as Mukherjee was away in Kabul, the Ministry of External Affairs said. When Clinton called, the MEA said, Mukherjee congratulated her.
“Clinton expressed desire to work with Mukherjee to take the relationship between India and the US to a new level. Both agreed they would like to further strengthen bilateral relations. Mukherjee invited Clinton to visit India at a mutually convenient date,” the MEA said.
