Hindustan Times honoured for its series on acid attacks

The Hindustan Times was on Friday awarded the International Press Institute India Award for Excellence in Journalism 2014 for its series against acid attacks.

The Hindustan Times was on Friday awarded the International Press Institute India Award for Excellence in Journalism 2014 for its series against acid attacks.

The award was presented to editor-in-chief Sanjoy Narayan by Union minister of state for environment, forests and climate change Prakash Javadekar at a function in Delhi.

Hindustan Times won the award for a powerful public interest campaign against acid attacks. The jury commended the paper for focusing attention on a heinous crime and raising awareness.
