A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was arrested in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said in Jammu.
Mohmmad Azam, son of Pakistani based commander and a class 12th student, was arrested from Sabzian area near the Line of Control in Poonch district last night, they said.
Mohmmad Akbar, father of Azam, had crossed over to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir for arms training in 1992, they said.
On a tip off from Azam, a cache of arms were recovered near the LoC in Poonch by 40 Rastriya Rifles and police.
The recoveries included 2 pistols, 40 pistols rounds, one 81mm mortar, one wireless set, one Decta phone, 20 AK rifles among other things.
Two associates of Azam were also arrested by the police, they said, adding that trio have been sent to Joint Interrogation Centre.
