LABOUR COMMISSIONER Indore has issued directives for granting holiday to the labourers on April 24 to enable them to exercise their franchise in Budhni by-election.
Accordingly, under the Factory Act 1948 the managers of all the factories falling under the polling areas and as shown in the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha by-election constituency 144 Budhni, Sehore district have been asked to declare weekly holiday for their workers on the polling day- April 24.
As per an official release, the workers who discharge duty all the seven days in a week, would be given the facility for two hours to cast votes. This facility would be for workers of the first and second shift for exercising their franchise according to an earlier system.
This means that the shift will be closed two hours before the regular time and the second shift will commence two hours after the stipulated time so that the workers would not feel difficulty in exercising their franchise.
So far as the question of such factories is concerned which are in the category of continuous process, the workers would get the facility of exercising their franchise in turns according to the earlier system without any loss to their payable salaries.
