Back-to-back serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad figured on Thursday in a meeting of the Union Cabinet where Home Minister Shivraj Patil briefed the situation and the status of the probe.
"The Home Minister briefed the Cabinet about the serials blasts," Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram told reporters after the meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
His reply came in response to a question whether the Cabinet Committee on Security met to discuss about the serial explosions, which together claimed nearly 60 lives.
On July 25, a string of nine synchronised low-intensity bomb blasts rocked IT hub Bangalore during the busy lunch hour, leaving two killed and injuring over a dozen others.
A day later, a series of explosions rocked Ahmedabad claiming 53 lives and injuring over 140 people.
Twenty-one live bombs were also recovered from Surat city in past few days creating panic among people.
