Real Madrid defeated lowly Racing Santander 3-1 at home to move to the top of the Primera Liga football tournament with Barcelona.
The pleasant win gives Real 23 points from 11 games, the same points as Barcelona but having played one game more.
"We really enjoyed ourselves tonight," said Real winger Jose Antonio Reyes, who scored the second goal for his team on Saturday.
Captain Raul Gonzalez dedicated the win to Real legend Ferenc Puskas, who died in Budapest on Friday at the age of 79. There was also an emotional homage to the "Galloping Major" before the game.
Real went ahead just after five minutes, when defender Sergio Ramos headed in a far-post Reyes corner.
Santander looked lively in the first half but lacked punch in attack.
Reyes made it 2-0 in the 57th minute with a near-post left-foot drive, after being set up by Emerson.
In the 69th minute Mahamadou Diarra made it 3-0 on a centre from Raul.
Santander defender Ezequiel Garay pulled a goal back for his side with a blistering long-range free-kick. But the visitors never looked capable of turning the match round - despite Real playmaker Guti picking up a silly second yellow card.
