MADHYA PRADESH Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe Hostlers’ Association has objected to the timing of the ongoing inspection being undertaken at various hostels of the State.
President of the association, Parmeshwar Bhagat told newspersons here today the State Government’s order for inspection of the SC/ST hostels between May 3 and 7 had no meaning as a majority of the hostels in the educational institutions were vacant in the summer vacation.
“What is the rationale behind conducting an inspection at a time when students are not there?” he asked. Bhagat alleged that by undertaking this exercise in the absence of students, the State Government was seeking to fulfill just a formality.
Bhagat said the ongoing exercise was the result of the pressure mounted by his organisation, which also highlighted inadequate facilities in the hostels.
He however, expressed gratitude towards the Government for undertaking this exercise for assessing existing facilities and requirements in tribal hostels.
He further said officials of the department were trying to present a rosy picture before the State Government. Referring to the ongoing welfare activities undertaken for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes students Bhagat alleged the reality was far from what the BJP Government was claiming.
