Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra, on Sunday presented drafts and cheques worth R1.62 lakh for the victims of the Uttarakhand tragedy to Reasi deputy commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
In a function organised at The Vaishnodevi IRCTC Guest House, Katra, association president Shyam Lal Kesar presented drafts and cheques to the DC.The deputy commissioner thanked the association for making efforts for raising the amount for this noble cause and urged people to come forward for helping those affected by such calamites.
He said every effort would be made for bringing Reasi district among the best districts of the state. Tourist places around Katra will be upgraded so that the stay of the people may increase here, particularly in view the arrival of the train at Katra within few months.
The DC elaborated his vision with regard to the overall development of the district. He said keeping in view the importance and administrative requirement of Katra town and topography of Mahore, the opening of deputy commissioner's camp offices is in progress at these places.
