Housewife's molestors sent behind bars
5 persons, who attempted to rape a housewife at her residence were sent to 14 days in jail in Delhi.
Five persons, who attempted to rape a housewife at her residence after attacking her husband, were on Thursday sent to 14 days in jail by a city court in New Delhi.
Metropolitan Magistrate Prashant Kumar remanded the five men, who were arrested yesterday from west Delhi, to a fortnight's judicial custody following the prosecution plea that investigation into the case was still in the initial stage.
The accused are Jitender Rana of Rohini district in the Capital, Iqbal Singh, Harjit Singh, Hawa Singh and Purushottam- all residents of Rani Khana village in west Delhi.
The accused had last evening barged into the victim's house at Sector 11 in Rohini district, beat up her husband and attempted to outrage her modesty in his presence, prosecution said.
However, the woman managed to raise an alarm, which brought her neighbours to the scene, who apprehended the accused and later handed them over to the police, it added.
The five men have been booked under sections 376 (rape), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 323 (causing hurt) among other sections of the IPC.
