Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Bachchan are on the verge of scoring a hat-trick. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has cast them in a contemporary love story. This would be their third romantic pairing after Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa Akbar.
The stars’ on-screen chemistry fascinates Bhansali, says a source close to the director, who got an award-winning performance out of Aishwarya in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. This would be Hrithik’s first film with the filmmaker.
Talks for this film have been on for some time. “Bhansali had shown the script to both the actors soon after the release of Jodhaa Akbar. But Aishwarya’s diary was full then. Now, both actors have agreed to do it. Aishwarya is yet to finalise dates,” adds the source.
One of Hrithik’s close associates confirms that he is meeting Bhansali often these days to discuss the film. “Hrithik’s Kites is likely to be wrapped up in three months, and Bhansali is keen to start the film by March, so that it is out by early 2010.”
Ash’s secretary Harii Singh said, “We have received the script, but Aishwarya is yet to read it. She is still busy with Mani Ratnam’s film.” Even so, the Bhansali deal seems to be in the bag.
