Highlight Story

The actor who has come a long way from his lover boy image to a multi-talented star is all set to play a wheelchair bound patient in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film Guzaarish.

According to reports, Hrithik wiil be seen in an entirely new avatar in his first film with Bhansali. In the movie he will play a radio show host who is suffering from paraplegia, a disorder that results from spinal cord injury and leads to impairment in sensory or motor functions, often binding the patients to wheelchair or bed. Despite being a paraplegic his character is intelligent and charming.

Aishwariya Rai Bachchan will play the female lead. She will be playing Hrithik's nurse. She is a married woman but gets attracted to him.

The movie also deals with the subject of euthanasia, or mercy killing. The subject bears a striking similarity to the 1972 play Whose Life Is It Anyway and the Oscar-winning Spanish film The Sea Inside, which was about a bed-ridden man fighting a legal battle for 28 years to end his own life. When he loses the legal battle, he eventually kills himself with the help of a nurse who’s in love with him. The film was based on a true story.
