THE HIGH SCHOOL and Intermediate examination, scheduled to start from March 17, 2007, will now start from March 12.
According to Basudev Yadav, secretary of Madhymik Shiksha Parishad, the earlier schedule had been cancelled because of unavoidable circumstances.
Parishad sources, however, said the dates had been changed keeping in view the coming Assembly elections.
Yadav told Hindustan Times here on Thursday that the examinations, beginning on March 12, would end on April 12.
Around 50 lakh students (30 lakh High School and 19.5 lakhlakh Intermediate) are likely to appear in the exams, registering an increase of about four lakh students in comparison to last year’s exams. Regarding exam centres, Yadav said it would be announced soon after a high court judgment.
