Even after a month, the concerned department of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has not been able to locate the fault resulting in leakages in water supply pipelines at Sector 10.

The residents have been complaining of foul smell and mud from supplied water.

Samples have been collected to find out the reasons behind the contamination of water in the area which comes under Huda.

"We are trying to detect the reason behind the contamination of water," said AK Gulati, sub-divisional officer (SDO) of the area concerned.

"We have requested the residents to cooperate with the department in locating the problem," said a junior engineer.

The department claimed to have taken all measures to locate the problem in the main sewer lines laid in the sector.

"For the last one month, we have been consuming contaminated water, but for how long can we afford to get water from private tankers, or bottled one? My entire family has been

suffering from stomach ailments. I am really tired. I have no option but to put pressure on the residents' welfare association (RWA)," said Ram Niwas, a resident.

"We have already bought the issue to the notice of SDO, executive engineer AK Gupta and Nitin Yadav, administrator, yet it has not been resolved," said Hari Pratap Kaushik, president of RWA.
