Huge arms haul in Kashmir

A militant hideout was busted in north Kashmir on Monday by security forces and large haul of arms recovered.

According to Srinagar-based spokesman of the army, a joint party of the army and police busted an underground militant hideout in Sungal Nar area of Lolab forest in Kupwara, 90 km north of Srinagar.

"Besides a large haul of arms, ammunition, other war-like stores were recovered," said the spokesman.

He said the search operation was launched on specific intelligence regarding a hideout in the forested area.

"One AK-47 along with three magazine and 40 rounds of ammunition, one pistol, one RPG along with three rounds of ammunition, one UBGL along with eight rounds of ammunition, two Chinese hand grenades one IED circuit and 01 Radio set, were recovered," said the spokesman.
